It was my senior year of highschool; I wasn’t the smartest kid but I took advantage of any opportunity I was given. On March 14th (3/14) (pie day) my teacher tasked us with bringing in pie for the class, in return we would receive extra credit. My friend brought two pies, one for him and I. March slipped in April then May and before we knew it, it was the last day of school. Math was my 6th and final exam of the week, and I bombed that sh*t. I watched my grade fall from a mediocre 65% to a 59%, I wasn’t going to pass math class. That 1% determined whether I walked with my class or not. I pleaded with my math teacher to give me an extra credit assignment to pass but “how would that be fair to the rest of my students? They would have to be offered that opportunity as well” I racked my brain for a solution and it dawned on me. “Pie day” I said. “Did you ever credit me for pie day?” My math teacher stared at me, “let’s see”. That, ladies and gentlemen is how I graduated highschool because of a pie
