Scott Allen Schultz broke into homes, exposed himself: Cops

A 60-year-old Michigan man with a history of sex-related crimes is facing a possible life sentence after he was caught on surveillance cameras attempting to break into several homes in a residential area and masturbating outside at least one of them.

Scott Allen Schultz — who did himself no favors when he interrupted a judge during his first court appearance this week to seemingly defend his actions — was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with three counts of first-degree attempted home invasion and one count of indecent exposure by a sexually delinquent person, authorities said.

Schultz is also a habitual felony fourth offender, which means his sentence could be drastically enhanced if he is convicted, according to a news release from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.

“Such behavior is not only a violation of personal boundaries but also poses a threat to the safety and well-being of our community,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said in a statement. “We are committed to pursuing justice, emphasizing the sacred nature of the home. Simultaneously, we recognize the importance of addressing mental health concerns where appropriate.”

Deputies with the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office responded on Tuesday to an area in the 100 block of Market Street in Mount Clemens after receiving multiple 911 calls claiming that a man was attempting to break into houses, authorities said in a separate release.

“The suspect attempted to enter at least three homes along Market Street. When the suspect realized he could not enter one of the homes, he proceeded to expose himself to the Ring Doorbell camera and masturbate. The suspect then attempted to enter at least two other homes but again was unable to do so due to the doors being locked.”

The suspect is also accused of “exposing himself via at least one Ring Doorbell camera.”

A neighbor told Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ that Schultz’s alleged conduct was “not something you really want to think that people do” because of how scary it is.

On Thursday, Schultz interrupted a judge during his arraignment to inform the court that he should be released from jail so he could continue his “mission.”

“Your honor, if I can interrupt you, I’m on a mission I have to complete by year’s end,” Schultz said in a video provided by Detroit Fox affiliate WJBK. “Being tethered …”

“Mr. Schultz, Mr. Schultz, I would ask that you reserve that,” the prosecutor said, cutting off Schultz.

Schultz is being detained on $500,000 bond.

“Some of the information that came forward to our detective is very alarming,” Cmdr. Jason Abro of the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office told WJBK. “And what his motives were, and what he was attempting to do … We are happy he’s in Macomb County Jail and happy he was given a half-million dollar bond.”

Authorities urged anyone with information regarding Schultz’s alleged conduct to contact the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.

‘If you let me go I’ll Jack off on more porches’ is a wild thing to say at an arraignment.
