Does anyone have a screenshot of the letter? I have only seen the nieces letter, however I suspect that it could be fake to deter people from finding the real letter online. When I search bin laden "letter to america", the niece's 'letter' comes up in search results instead.
If anyone else has the original, real letter- with transcription would be ideal, please post it.
You'd think that a sudden interest in historical events would be a good thing on principle. Is it really better for human comprehension to remove access to information instead of adding a short addendum and contextual history to what is, literally, a first-person historical document?
Could have been a good opportunity for an essay writer to demonstrate how modern perspectives can actually improve our understanding of an event now that we're able to include context that wasn't available during the time. Instead, it's telling ignorant kids that they shouldn't learn something, which is a great way to encourage them to learn that thing without oversight or a social safety net.

Do you think Steven King's banned books tweet applies to this situation? 🤣
