Just find a loose ring she wears, not frequently, and take it by the jeweler. Also, write it down for future reference.

If the push pin is a typical 22mm = 0.86 inch office push pin then you can scale off and see the ring is 23/32" in diameter or a Size 8 ring. Scaled image for confidence
