Just a few days ago on November 3, Epic Games launched the latest chapter in Fortnite titled Fortnite OG, or also known as Chapter 5 Season 1. Apparently, this seems to have struck a chord with the playerbase, as Fortnite has hit an all-time player count high!

Over on Twitter, Epic announced that Fortnte has hit 44.7 million players logging in for one single day, which has translated to 102 million hours of play!

Way to start things off with a big bang 💥 We're blown away by the response to #FortniteOG. Yesterday was the biggest day in Fortnite’s history with over 44.7 MILLION players jumping in and 102 MILLION hours of play. To all Fortnite players, OG and new, THANK YOU! — Fortnite (@FortniteGame) November 5, 2023

Needless to say, this is an insane number, and could very well be something that’s not topped by any other game regardless if it’s free-to-play or not.

For those thinking Fortnite’s popularity is waning, well, apparently that’s not the case. I mean, with numbers like these, I doubt any multiplayer game can touch it in terms of reach. Heck, even Call of Duty can’t tout these kinds of numbers.

Congrats, Epic! And for those playing FortniteOG, please don’t be toxic and be nice to newbies.

Been playing on and off since Chapter 1 of fortnite and I have to say it feels really good being back on the old map.

It will be interesting to see how fortnite uses this season to pivot, in light of their creative director retiring roughly two months ago.
