Any truck you see without a hood has a flip up cab. They are called COEs, or cab over engine. Firetrucks are oriented in this configuration as they are much more maneuverable and have better visibility. It also has the added benefit of leaving space on the front of the truck for additional accessories and access to pump outlets.
