Oh no, they're mad at Democrats for refusing to swoop in and save McCarthy from his fate.

There is no reason to expect Democrats to vote for an opposition party's leader, especially when he refuses to offer any concessions in exchange.

Yet Republicans were suddenly unified in their echoes of McCarthy's claim that Democrats are obligated to bail Republicans out of problems of the GOP's own making.

The reason they expect Democrats to fix the problems Republicans cause is that, well, Democrats have been doing just that forever.

Because Democrats are generally decent people who don't want others to suffer, Republicans can bully them into solving problems Republicans cause.

The issue for McCarthy, however, is there's no real appeal to the greater good Republicans can use to foist responsibility onto Democrats. »

Mr Speaker Fergus was elected by the “single transferable vote” or “ranked choice” voting system and is the first black Canadian to hold the post.

The vote was supervised by the “Dean of the House”, the longest continuous serving MP who announced the result and invited the newly elected Speaker to take the Chair.

By tradition the new Speaker is “dragged reluctantly” to the podium and this time he broke free from his escort to greet a colleague. »

Patch 2.01 for Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty is being rolled out on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
