The crazy thing is that tons of people went along with it. The world fair had 400 indigenous people displayed as a major attraction and attracted over 28 million visitors to the "exhibit". It seems almost impossible to believe the levels of cruelty humans (and still do in many ways) participate in towards each other in just casual ways, like this fucking picture took place at Coney Island. What? Those men wearing those suits were just sitting there looking at a human child tied up in a zoo and then going on to get a hotdog afterwards and talk about the fucking ballgame?
Dehumanizing others and elevating groups above others just so they can feel better about themselves is so awful.

Belgium had their last human zoo close in 1958 at the world fair. Both unacceptable, but there’s your truly disturbing fact for the day.
