📖 Bts: Hello, i'm an urban explorer & photographer based in Paris. đŸ•ŗī¸ Pirate Well We arrive in the morning on this green and rocky massif, the atmosphere is peaceful but the tension palpable, approaching the sinkhole which does not allow us to imagine what is below. We go down there and crawl in a sloping area where the scree requires full attention, a succession of 2x 50m wells, and finally this narrow meander where I barely pass in width. At the end I only see darkness, a narrow door opening onto abyss, something unfathomable with our lamps, the diameter of this well is already huge, but its depth leaves one speechless : 328m! The height of the Eiffel Tower. It's in heavy silence that we begin the descent, each focused, observing huge limestone walls dug over centuries in perfect darkness, a titanic work hidden from everyone's eyes. After a few minutes, in this void, my friends below are nothing more than tiny fireflies in the night. Fortunately the day before we divided the descent of this well to avoid a single fraction rope as it was, pure madness. But still, this descent remains impressive and we have to be focused at each fraction passage with hundreds of meters of void below. Once down,-500m below the surface, everyone comes to their senses, warm up as best we can. The first to arrive already begins to climb back up. I wait until they are all at a good distance and I try to take a photo, they were warned, luckily there isn't too much echo in this silence and they can hear me even if it's hard. It's time for me to start climbing 328m on ropes, it was long, very long, meter by meter without seeing the end, just small fireflies far above me which one by one disappeared into the darkness. Once up this well, perhaps the hardest part begins : bringing up the ropes, I bring up a 200m wet rope in a bag, the pulley helps me but my arms start to feel paralyzed. I can't stop, it remains to bring up this heavy & huge bag through the narrow meanders, then climb the last 2 shafts with this dead weight and finally, liberation, I emerge. It's still dark, but this time I can see stars and a beautiful moon rising above the mountains, end of the abysses. It was amazing. 📷 Nikon Z6 - 20" - f/2.8 - iso800 - 14mm Šī¸ instagram @ freed_o_gram
