Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis — who is running for the GOP nomination for president, who has loosened gun laws in Florida and who has antagonized civil rights leaders by deriding “wokeness " — was loudly booed as he addressed the vigil.

Ju’Coby Pittman, a Jacksonville city councilwoman who represents the neighborhood where the shooting happened, stepped in to ask the crowd to listen.

“What he did is totally unacceptable in the state of Florida,” DeSantis said.

He was the 33rd murder victim in the 27 years Guns has been there, he said.

Arizona 911 operators to get unlimited mental health services

PHOENIX — Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs signed House Bill 2717 which will provide the state’s 911 operators unlimited mental health services.

The signing of the bill gives 911 operators the same mental health benefits as police officers and firefighters.

5 family members found dead in Ohio home in apparent quadruple murder-suicide

Five family members, including three kids, were found dead in an Ohio home Thursday evening in what police are calling a "domestic dispute that turned deadly," according to a news release.

The incident is being investigated as a quadruple murder-suicide, police said.

The Uniontown Police Department responded to 13305 Carnation Avenue around 7:31 p.m. to conduct a wellbeing check at the request of a coworker of one of the family members. »
