I had heterophoria (misalignment of the eyes, so the visual axis wasn't linear). I had strabismus surgery because these so called prism glasses were hella expensive and I would have needed new ones every few months when growing up. When I was 7 or so, the muscle of my left eye was sewed and weakened (if I remember right) and since then, I don't need glasses anymore!
