This is my favorite photo from a backpacking trip in Northern New Mexico. We hiked to this clearing that was created by a wild fire in the early 2000s. I wanted this photo to show the regrowth that has begun around the dead and fallen trees and how even after a terrible fire the forest will one day return. Something I think we need to remember more often in daily life.
