This was a challenging single exposure. It’s not easy to capture the different light from the LED street light, the incandescent light bulbs in the office, to the neon sign and the red reflection in the high altitude clouds and smoke from the fires at the time in the PNW. Shot with a Canon 5d mkii,16-35mm 2.8L. F/8, ISO 800, 10 second exposure. I used a slice of a square ND8 Cokin filter to cover the neon and incandescent areas of the frame, held in place for 6 ticks of the 10 second exposure. Moving it then to cover the street light for the final 4 ticks.
