We failed. /u/spez just stopped talking publicly about it and privately cracked down on admins doing protests that actually hurt him (private subs and NSFW). He doesn't care about this type of protest because it still generates traffic and drives ads. Now the API restrictions kicked in, Apollo is gone, the protest has been defanged. It's over. There's nothing left to do for protest except leave reddit.
