I know some of us west coast people have been ragging on you all. I have been through that a few times and sucks. Stay safe and inside. The effects on your lungs can last longer than you would think.
I have never lived in NYC but maybe treat it like a blizzard. You can go outside sure, but don't. And check on the elderly.
