Former Battlefield creative director Lars Gustavsson has announced the formation of a new game development studio, TTK Games (Time To Kill Games).
Co-founded by four EA DICE veterans, the Stockholm, Sweden-based studio says it has âsecured significant funding coupled with creative freedomâ and is currently working on a next-gen online shooter.
TTK Games CEO and creative director Gustavsson worked at DICE for 22 years, where he was known as âMr Battlefieldâ, having helped shape the franchise from its beginning until he departed last year amid a major studio shake-up.
After working as a game designer on Ubisoftâs Far Cry 3, TTKâs senior design director Daniel Berlin spent almost a decade at DICE, where he worked on multiple Battlefield titles as lead world designer and design director.
Studio chief technology officer and technical director Vidar Nygren previously spent 25 years at DICE, where he directed the development of the Frostbite game engine and most recently served as head of technology.
Art director Peter Hoyles worked at DICE for 12 years, where he contributed to multiple Battlefield games and served as studio art director for DICE LA.
âFor players, the phrase âTime to Killâ defines how a shooter feels and how fast it plays,â said Gustavsson.
âWeâve made it our studio name and part of our studio culture. For us the term âTTKâ isnât just about the craftmanship behind finding the perfect speed or immediacy of a game â itâs about how human beings have been killing time through play for thousands of years.
âThroughout my career Iâve made games to encourage teamwork, friendly competition and using your mind and reflexes to accomplish a goal and outwit your opponent. We are passionate about videogames, because we think thereâs no better way to kill time.â
TTK Games is currently recruiting for hybrid and Stockholm-based roles from graduate to lead across all disciplines.

Wonder which engine they'll use for their titles.
