Sony is said to have made some exclusivity deals with Konami over Metal Gear Solid 3, Silent Hill, and possibly, a new Castlevania.

We’ve seen quite a few rumors about MGS3: Snake Eater being remade. Recently, porting studio Virtuos listed Konami as one of its clients, and VGC’s Andy Robinson also mentioned the game for a 2024 release. Interestingly enough, earlier today, more rumors about MGS3 being remade popped up, this time coming from Xbox Era's Shpeshal Nick and Windows Central's Jez Corden. In the most recent episode of the Xbox Era podcast, Shpeshal Nick said that, although his source isn't entirely sure, the Snake Eater remake could make its appearance during the rumored PlayStation showcase, and it is said to have some sort of PlayStation exclusivity. No further details were shared, but after this podcast aired, Jez Corden took to Twitter to say that he has heard similar rumors.

"Heard similar about Metal Gear exclusivity for PlayStation btw", the Windows Central Managing Editor wrote on Twitter. When asked whether this is what Bluepoint Games has been working on, Corden added that he has just heard that Sony has struck some exclusivity deals with Konami over Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, and possibly, a new Castlevania.

"Not sure on that", Corden said when asked whether Bluepoint Games is working on the rumored Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake. "Just heard Sony landed a deal with Konami for Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and maybe even a new Castlevania."

Interestingly enough for fans of the Dead Rising franchise, Corden later said that something is cooking for that series as well, possibly a reboot for the series.

"If you're a Dead Rising fan there might be something on the horizon for you too...", he tweeted. "Heard it's a reboot, Capcom [has] been on a solid keel lately", he added.

Pretty interesting pieces of information, especially since, back in 2021, we also reported on a rumor about Konami wanting to revive the Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Castlevania series through remakes. Of course, these are only rumors for now, and as such, take the info above with a pinch of salt for now.

Would you like to see a remake of 2004's MGS3: Snake Eater? What about a new Castlevania? The last main Castlevania game was released in 2014 in the form of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. if these rumors are legit, are we looking at a remake of an entirely new entry? Can we ban rumor posts from this subreddit already? It feels like it's just variants on the same handful of topics every time
