Friendly or mean? Because years ago I would hang out with a mated pair at a pond at a place I worked at. They were nice to me. I could even call them to me from across the pond and they'd come flying over. I could touch them too.

My wife picked up an injured Egyptian goose chick next to the highway in Cape Town, South Africa and brought himhome to nurse back to health. When he was healed and wanted to start flying, we realized that our dogs would kill him if he left its enclosure, so she phoned around and found a home for him on Zevenwacht Farm, some 35 km from where we live. We took the goose there in a covered box, released him and thought it was the last time we'd see him.

Except, not. The next year he was back, spent about ten days or so on our roof and in the area, before disappearing. How it knew how to find the way to our house, nobody knows. He's never flown in the area, and as said above was taken to the farm in a closed box.

Anyway, for the past four years he and his mate have returned to our home, where they quack loudly whenever they spot us. This year, they had a newly-painted roof to shit on, which they did.
