There's no conservative-liberal divide on the U.S. Supreme Court when it comes to calls for a new, enforceable ethics code.

The Supreme Court has come under mounting pressure to address its procedures for handling potential conflicts of interest after a wave of recent headlines alleging ethical lapses by Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch.

Public confidence in the justices is at its lowest point in more than 20 years of Gallup polling.

Durbin said Thursday in a statement that the justices' explanation of their approach to ethics "raises more questions than it resolves.".

"Make no mistake," he said, "Supreme Court ethics reform must happen whether the Court participates in the process or not.".

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A man is accused of killing and dismembering an Uber Eats driver delivering food to his home, according to the Pasco County sheriff.

Deputies searched Thursday for the missing Uber Eats driver and Uber Eats provided law enforcement with information on his last whereabouts.

GPS data showed the driver was last at a home along Moog Road in Holiday, Florida, according to the sheriff. »

MANILA - The Philippines Coast Guard said on Friday (April 28) it was involved in a confrontation with Chinese vessels that made "dangerous maneuvers" in the South China Sea, the latest in a string of tense maritime interactions between the two countries.

The Coast Guard said that during the April 18-24 mission, it identified more than 100 "alleged Chinese maritime militia vessels, a People's Liberation Army Navy corvette class and two China Coast Guard vessels" within the Philippines' 200-mile exclusive economic zone. »
