Paweł Sasko, CD Projekt Red’s quest designer for the critically acclaimed game Cyberpunk 2077, recently reiterated the company’s commitment to delivering the highest quality content possible during a livestream on Twitch. Sasko explained that while some players may be intrigued by cut or unused content within the game, it is ultimately the designer’s responsibility to ensure that only the best material is included in the final product.

Sasko’s comments shed light on the decision-making process that determines which content makes it into the game, emphasizing that quality is always the top priority. “Our main goal is to make our games as rich and deep as possible for our players,” Sasko said, adding that their ultimate objective is to create “the best possible game.” When questioned about new content for Cyberpunk 2077, Sasko remained elusive, stating he had “no knowledge about new content” from other departments.

Fans eagerly anticipating news on upcoming DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 can look forward to the “Phantom Liberty” release, with more details expected to be unveiled this June. The full livestream of Sasko’s insights can be viewed on Twitch.

Cyberpunk 2077, released in December 2020 and developed by a team of around 500 people, garnered praise for its narrative, setting, and graphics. However, it faced criticism for bugs and performance issues, particularly on console versions, which led to its temporary removal from the PlayStation Store. CD Projekt Red has since addressed many of these issues, and as of September 2022, the game has sold over 20 million copies. An expansion, Phantom Liberty, is set to release in 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X, with a sequel currently in development.

This sound almost as convincing as Bethesda saying their aim is to release games not littered with physics and progression breaking bugs. Can't fault them for saying that, buuuuuuut, doing it would be better.
