Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), who often uses her religious beliefs to justify her positions on political issues, was a lot less willing to do so when it came to her minor son and his minor girlfriend’s pregnancy.

Earlier this month, Boebert was ranting about how “liberals” want to teach her four sons “to be women” just before she announced that her 17-year-old son’s younger girlfriend is expecting a baby in April. This will make Boebert a 36-year-old grandmother since she got pregnant with her son when she was in high school herself.

She was talking with gay conservative podcast host Dave Rubin asked Boebert on Thursday about how she talked to her son and his girlfriend about keeping the baby – Boebert is staunchly opposed to abortion – and Rubin asked, “Was there any part of that that challenged any of your beliefs?”

“Obviously, I’m a Christian, and there are standards that we like to uphold, but none of us do it perfectly,” she said, probably referring to the premarital sex that led to the pregnancy. “You know, one of the biggest things that I look to is ‘him who knows to do right and doesn’t, it’s sin.'”

But, unlike when she’s talking about LGBTQ+ people, Boebert was in a very forgiving mood.

“And I mean, there’s things all throughout the week that I know is right to do, and sometimes, I don’t do them,” she said. “And so we can nitpick what the Bible says is right and wrong, but I think just having that, um, that, that heart posture of wanting to serve God and do the right thing is so important.”

In the past, Boebert has been very willing to use her religious beliefs to attack people she doesn’t like.

” I think when we have a large portion of the population who can’t tell us what a woman is, there’s a crisis,” she said at the Truth and Liberty Coalition’s conference last year. “And it’s not as if they don’t know better.”

“They aren’t ignorant regarding these things. They know exactly what they’re doing. They know perfectly well. They’re spitting in God’s face and they don’t care…. They know what’s right. They know the difference. They know what a boy is and what a girl is, but they’ve been deceived. Dark darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the people, but the Lord will rise over you and His glory will be seen upon you.”

“God is on our side. The blood has been applied,” she continued. “We are going straight into victory. You are all more than conquerors through God, through Christ who strengthens you every step of the way.”

Boebert, who believes we are currently living in the “last of the Last Days,” has used Bible quotes to possibly pray for President Joe Biden’s death.

At the Spiritual and Leadership Training conference in Dallas last month, she quoted a conversation she had with one of her followers who told her what he wanted to tell Jesus: “Jesus, don’t you know we’re out of money? COVID’s hit, they shut everything down, Joe Biden’s president, we don’t know what to do, Lord.”

“That’s alright, we pray for our presidents: ‘Let his days be few and another take his office,” she said as the crowd laughed. She said she was quoting from Psalm 109:8 from the Bible, which says: “Let his days be few, and let another take his office. Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.”

“Unfortunately, he does have a really great insurance policy named Kamala Harris,” she added.

I saw a sticker on a mom van today while they were dropping their kids off to a Christian private school “if we can’t outvote them, outbreed them”

Well at least they admit that they are willing to ignore parts of the Bible when it suits them

Forgiveness for me, stoning for thee.
