After the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow, during which the Russian and Chinese sides declared a strategic partnership and economic cooperation, the largest logistics company in China stopped the shipment of goods to Russia from its warehouses in Shanghai and Shenzhen.

The news outlet Baza reports, citing a source working in a purchasing department of one of the Russian companies, that the Chinese OOCL Logistics refuses to ship to Russia dresses, skirts, pants, shoes, and other clothes which have already been paid for. The company explains its refusal by the western sanctions. Representatives of OOCL said that they were not going to load goods into containers or transfer them to a third-party carrier. The company also refused to accept products from Russian suppliers.

OOCL Logistics is owned by Orient Overseas, one of the world's largest container logistics companies. It is headquartered in Hong Kong. Up until recently OOCL had no issues working with Russian clients.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Western countries were stepping up "undisguised, brutal pressure" on those countries that had not joined the sanctions against Russia.

"These countries themselves tell us about it. Unfortunately, they have to face such an onslaught," Peskov told reporters.

earlier, two countries limited goods supplies to Russia. At first, Turkey refused to ship sanctioned goods to Russia, and then Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan‘s government is introducing an online system for tracking goods that are brought into the country for subsequent re-export. The systems will begin to operate starting April 1. This will help Kazakhstan to avoid violating Western sanctions imposed against Russia for its aggression against Ukraine.

China has 10 times Russian population and 10 times Russian economy, plus rapidly developing modern technology sector Russia lacks completely - their mutual status in relationship was artificial, Russian potential is incomparably smaller and now things are being corrected to more realistic level.

War only speed up the process of degrading Russian international position to the level of their true potential - economy of Italy, lack of technology, oil deposits smaller than Venezuela and population nearly 2 times smaller than Pakistan.

New ambitious nations rises all around the world when Russian international position during last 30 years was artificial wishful thinking based on USSR perception.

During 1980s Moscow ruled some ~12% of global population, today - 1,8%.

Putin: TFW when your last friend knows they’re you’re last friend.

Goods will start moving again within a week. Bet Putin already knows what they want and will quietly concede it. Xi is many things but above all else he’s an effective operator.

Submission statement: UA wire reports on a Telegram post (in Russian) that the Chinese state owned logistics company OOCL Logistics has refused to send some textiles to Russia, reportedly to comply with sanctions.

There is a possibility that this rumor is just a combination of a misplaced check and a game of telephone, but the Chinese foreign ministry's statement on the summit this week didn't sound as if the meeting went well and this may well be a first indication that China is looking to put pressure on Russia, presumably to get Russia to support Chinese led peace talks.
