For those who might be confused, The “Essential Voices Collection” is under review by the Duval County School District for age appropriateness. This collection includes about 176 books, one of which is “The Life of Rosa Parks.” The same school district is also responsible for ordering the books in the first place but due to the new state laws about teaching subjects like race, sexual orientation, and gender identity to children, the school now has to review the books before they are put on shelves. I couldn’t find a timeline on how long the review is suppose to take. An indefinite review would certainly function as a ban
