So I've never done a neon shoot. And my friend Torry and I were wanting to expiriment with some different styles of photos since she doesn't model and wanted some fresh pics for her social media, and I wanted to try something a bit different.
First off. She's just a natural to shoot with. So effortless. I helped with a few poses and whatnot to get her started then she just started flowing. It was just so easy to shoot with her!
I did bring some props and things. I brought a light prism that I held in front of my 24-105mm so it could retract the light a bit. I also brought a spray bottle with water since she had this steampunk outfit and glasses so I thought they could add a bit of texture. Sprayed her glasses and the window behind her.
I've just been so used to shooting in the afternoon and really wanted to add something wildly different to my instagram. So doing something at night, with a huge neon sign at this internet cafe in Toronto, plus her awesome look, we were able to shoot one of my favourite photos I've taken!
Edit: oh! And I have this little portable rgb light so I set that to blue and put it on a tripod that was to the left side of this photo. Just to get a bit of light going down her side.
