Need For Speed Unbound Already Has Less Players Than Need For Speed Heat — Emopulse

Need for Speed Unbound is the latest entry in the Need for Speed franchise. The game was released on 29 November last year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. At first glance, the game was stunning, as it took a fresh approach to the classic Need for Speed formula by introducing a new art style and a fully-realized street racing experience.

The game launched to a better critical reception than Ghost Games’ last Need for Speed title, but the player base on Steam was not too strong, with an all-time high concurrent count of 14,0633 players. However, Need for Speed Unbound has been unable to retain its player base.

A few months later, the player base declined, and we noted that the game currently stands at a 708 24-hour peak. Unfortunately, Need for Speed Unbound’s current player counts have declined even lower than Need for Speed Heat.

Currently, Need for Speed Heat is leading with a much higher all-time concurrent record on Steam. Daily peaks are also more than 50% lower than the last racing game in the franchise. The lack of updates could be to blame for the game’s declining player base. The game lacks new content, making it hard to keep players engaged. Need for Speed Unbound also costs more than the older title, but Criterion’s latest release has been on sale since launch. While there are no exact numbers for the racing games on consoles, Need for Speed Unbound launched to fewer consoles since the game skipped last-generation hardware. This means that a similar trend may have been followed on consoles. EA has promised new updates for the game this year, and more details will be shared in March, as stated in the blog post by EA. Future updates will expand the game’s social features and add new game modes, which could help the franchise regain some of its lost popularity. Super fun game to play up until you beat it and realize they just want you to grind for days playing online. I don’t play many Need for Speed games, so I don’t know if single player dlc is a market for them but gosh it feels like this game needs it. It’s very story focused and I thought they did that part well other than the very stupid way they kick off the drama for the story at the beginning of the game.

Bought the palace pack only to find out you had to buy the cars exclusive to the DLC instead of just unlocking them at the start. They cost as much as like a Lamborghini making them near end game cars. Not a lot of fun to be had with that.

EA should have kept the Black Box Studio around for NFS titles and let Criterion continue making Burnout. The world would have been better for it.

Well the game is good i also think it lacks content in the multiplayer and heat was on 90% off before unbound even released so many players grabbed it. I think even paybacks player base also got more than heat when it was on sale before heat went on sale
