Rumors regarding the release date for Bethesda’s upcoming action role-playing game, Starfield, have once again began to surface, pointing towards a June, 2023 launch.

In the latest episode of The XboxTwo, Jez Corden, Managing Editor of Windows Central, responded to a question regarding the release date of Bethesda’s upcoming action-role-playing game, Starfield, saying that he is of the opinion that Starfield is going to launch in June, 2023.

The question asked was specifically regarding the release of Starfield on International Space Flight Day, which is on April 12, 2023. Though, Corden is of the opinion that the game will arrive in stores during the month of June, 2023, based on the latest information he has received. However, he clarified that this was merely his prediction, even though he’d bet on the game getting delayed beyond June, 2023.

Previously, sources had told Jez Corden that Starfield is now playable in full from start to finish, and that the game had yet be given an internet release date by the developer. Earlier, a Starfield listing on CDKeys had hinted that the game would release on March 23, 2023. This was in line with Microsoft’s statement regarding its release in the first half of the year. It was also mentioned that it would arrive ahead of Redfall, which now has a release date of May 2, 2023.

According to Corden, however, the most likely scenario was that this date is merely a placeholder. The Bethesda Launcher, which has been offline for more than six months, was listed as the delivery method for Starfield in the CDKeys store listing. The chance that Microsoft had given retailers like CDKeys a firm launch date was extremely tiny and at odds with the information Corden had learned about Starfield’s current development status.

The release date for Starfield is still to be determined, according to Corden’s sources. Under the condition of anonymity, these sources had informed him that Starfield is currently playable in its entirety from beginning to end. The game spans numerous star systems, making it incredibly large. As a result, the polishing effort is similarly enormous, which is likely why a concrete release date has yet to be announced by Microsoft and Bethesda.
