Massacre of My Lai, this photo was shortly taken after she and other women was raped. Shortly after this was taken they were gunned down. It was only stopped due to Major Hugh Clower Thompson who landed his helicopter and pointed his gun towards his own comrades to stop them from continuing the massacre. He risked his own life, and lost his career to protect the innocent women and children. What a hero, R.i.p Major Thompson, thank you for doing what's right in the little short life we live.

Major Tompson went into Vietnam, just like many other soldiers who wanted to stop evil like their fathers, uncles, and grandfather did in WW2, only to realize that the evil they had to stop was their comrades.
