Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has more than most to celebrate as the new GOP majority takes power in the House of Representatives, and is doing all she can to engineer a Capitol Hill comeback as a result.

It’s a political and strategic victory for Ms Greene, who is rumoured to be a candidate for the powerful House Oversight Committee.

Mr Kurtz questioned her briefly about the issue, pressing Ms Greene on her past embrace of the conspiracies.

“Well, like a lot of people today, I had easily gotten sucked into some things I had seen on the internet, but that was dealt with quickly early on.

But despite her insistence that those issues were “dealt with quickly”, Ms Greene has continued to embrace other conspiracy theories openly throughout her tenure in Congress.

“I was allowed to believe things that weren’t true and I would ask questions about them and talk about them,” Ms Greene said in a February 2021 floor speech. »

Single-use items such as plastic cutlery, plates and trays are to be banned in England in a bid to reduce pollution, the government has confirmed.

Figures suggest that every year England uses about 1.1bn single-use plates and 4.25bn pieces of such cutlery, only 10% of which are recycled after being used.

The Guardian understands plastic cutlery, plates and trays will be included in the ban. »

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin made his first public comments Saturday since suffering an on-field cardiac arrest during a football game Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 24-year-old Hamlin tweeted that "the love is felt, & extremely real," while expressing gratitude for the widespread support he has received during his hospitalization and recovery.
