The newly elected House speaker thanked Trump and credited him for helping sway votes his way, during an impromptu news conference that took place a little after midnight on Saturday.

"I do want to especially thank President Trump," McCarthy said.

Jolly is a former Florida Republican who previously served in the House of Representatives from 2014 to 2017.

A moderate conservative and outspoken critic of Trump, Jolly left the Republican Party in 2018 and now makes appearances as a political analyst on CNN and MSNBC.

Jolly appeared on MSNBC on Saturday where he spoke with host Katie Phang about McCarthy's struggle for the speakership.

Zelensky strips 13 pro-Russia priests of citizenship - media

By Decree No. 898/2022 of December 28, 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky suspended the citizenship of a number of priests with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate).

But according to the publication's sources, Zelensky suspended the citizenship of 13 clerics of the UOC (MP).

It is also noted that the State Migration Service received a corresponding notification about the loss of citizenship by the said persons. »

Elon Musk attorneys try to move trial from California to Texas, citing ‘local negativity’

Attorneys for Tesla and Elon Musk are asking a federal judge in San Francisco to move, or delay, a forthcoming trial from Northern California to Western Texas, saying they won’t be able to find unbiased jurors and citing “local negativity” toward Musk.

That year, Musk resided in California and Tesla was headquartered in Palo Alto.

Musk and his attorneys have previously argued that his statements about a possible take-private deal for Tesla in 2018 did not violate the law. »
