Dept of Conservation, which manages the 1000 public huts in NZ class this as alpine.

This is one of my favorite huts. It's a pretty difficult climb to get up there and the views are incredible if you get the weather right.

Am I having a stroke? Is the perspective of this picture messing with anyone? At first, I thought the hut was a toy, like a few feet from their boot. I guess it’s downhill quite a bit, but it doesn’t look that far.
