Nintendo might be planning to launch a special edition of Nintendo Switch OLED based on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Images from this custom edition have leaked online and appear to showcase a custom design for the Switch Dock, JoyCon, and the console itself.

This won’t be the first time Nintendo has released special edition hardware for a Zelda game as they have launched one based on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.

This console appears to feature a Gold and White/Grey combination of colors at least based on the images that have leaked online. There are stylish symbols laid out on the Switch Dock and JoyCon controller.

These screenshots appear to have leaked on December 29 so they are quite recent based on the watermark seen in the images. They look quite professional so it is hard to imagine these being fakes, still, it could be a fan-made design as well.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is not only the best-selling game in the series, but it is also one of the best-selling games on the Nintendo Switch. It was a surprise hit for Nintendo when it launched on both Wii U and Switch back in 2017. The game continued to have long legs and has currently sold more than 27 million copies worldwide.

Tears of the Kingdom is the successor to Breath of the Wild. It was initially announced for the Nintendo Switch and expected to launch in 2022 however the development of the game might have suffered a delay due to the COVID-19 impact in 2020. It is currently planned to launch in 2023 and will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

Would prefer a Pro/Upgraded Switch instead. I hope they learned a lot from the Framerate issues of BotW.
