Death Stranding 2 and Firewalk Studios’ first-person shooter are both reportedly scheduled to launch in the year 2024.

According to the ArtStation profile of senior character artist, Frank Aliberti, both Death Stranding 2 and the yet to be revealed first-person shooter from PlayStation Studios are set to launch in the year 2024. Based on his resume, the developer has worked as a character artist on both projects.

The “upcoming first-person shooter” listed in Aliberti’s profile is highly likely to be the game Firewalk Studios has been working on, as that is the only known first-person shooter in development at PlayStation Studios. The development team at Firewalk Studios includes a roster of talented developers who have helped deliver top-selling, culturally impactful titles, including the Destiny, Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Mass Effect, and Halo. According to the studio, this collected expertise allows the team to focus on delivering a rich multiplayer game experience rooted in great core gameplay and inspired art.

Meanwhile, Death Stranding 2 was officially revealed at The Game Awards 2022. It was also revealed that the characters featured in the game are powered by Unreal Engine 5’s MetaHuman technology. Towards the end of the reveal trailer, it is stated that the game is powered by Unreal Engine 5’s MetaHuman technology. The feature had previously only been demonstrated on Epic Games’ modern game engine. However, it appears that Epic Games is now allowing developers to incorporate the technology in their in-house game engines.

Decima is the first non-Unreal Engine title to use MetaHuman. The technology paves the way for the creation of fully rigged photo-realistic digital 3D character models in a matter of minutes. This will undoubtedly save Kojima Productions’ a lot of development time and effort.

The original Death Stranding is a 2019 action game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. It is the studio’s first game since it parted ways with Konami in 2015. A Microsoft Windows port license. A director’s cut version was released for the PlayStation 5 in September 2021, and then for Windows in March 2022.

I absolutely loved death stranding 1 and beat it a second time when the directors cut came out. I can't wait to see what they do with the second one. It'll also be interesting to firewalk's game.
