President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was on a working trip to the Donetsk region, where he met with the Ukrainian servicemen who are defending the city of Bakhmut.

The Head of State visited the frontline positions of one of the mechanized brigades, the personnel of which is confronting the enemy on the approaches to the city. The President listened to the commander's report on the operational situation, logistical support and proposals for further actions.

While in the area of hostilities, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian warriors for their courage, resilience and strength, which they demonstrate while repelling enemy attacks.

The President of Ukraine presented state awards to military personnel. Warriors of mechanized, motorized infantry, mountain assault, tank, artillery and airmobile units received them.

The Head of State and all those present honored the memory of the heroes who remained forever on the battlefield with a moment of silence.

It’s brave of him to go to the frontlines but it scares me when he does. One stray shell or missile and it would cause a whole lot of issues. I mean he’d also become a martyr but I’d rather have a consistent, honorable leader than a martyr.
