Wrap it in gauze, put a boquet of flowers and "Get well" soon card, next to it, then to top it off get a book and read to it. That should help relieve it's stress...

Years ago our HOA sent us a picture of the tree in our front yard with a note telling us we needed to remove the dead tree immediately. I sent them back a copy of an article explaining the phenomenon of trees dropping their leaves in the winter and miraculously regrowing them again in the spring.

ETA: I woke up this morning to a ton of Reddit notifications. I thought for sure I had done something wrong or made someone mad. Glad to see that was not the case. Thanks for all the upvotes.

I could talk all day about how awful my HOA is. I’ll share one more little gem. One year we had a really bad freeze. One of the numbers on the front of our house kept falling off. They’re metal and glued on to the brick. Well it did not want to re-stick because of the extreme cold. They sent letters, i reglued it and it fell off. I finally got fed up and glued it crooked. My little bit of being defiant and I thought it would be temporary. That time it decided to stick. And that is the story of why 15 years later the 3 on the front of our house is still crooked.
