The post doesn't mention his collapsed lung That tube going into the left side of his chest is a thoracostamy tube-- rib fractures can be painful but not necessarily life threatening, the fact that theres a tube in place is an indication of how traumatic the injury was.

Apparently Iran still uses white torture (sensory deprevation by isolating the prisoner in an all white encloser with white light shined on them at all times) and execution by falling (usually off a cliff)
