This is why i never feed my dog when I'm eating. Only when it's time to clean up / do the dishes did she get any extra or leftovers.
We maintained that through the 15 years we had her until the last year when she got sick and developed cancer. Then we spoiled the shit out of her but it was a great reminder of why you don't feed your dog from the table... ever.
Otherwise you will never be able to sit and enjoy a meal ever again.
