A video showing Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker referring to America as "the greatest country in the United States" has gone viral following an election rally on Thursday.
Walker, who is running in Georgia's Senate runoff election on December 6, spoke at an event, along with Republican Texas Senator Ted Cruz, as the state prepares for another round of campaigning.
Footage of Walker's remark shared to Twitter on Friday by PatriotTakes had been viewed more than 500,000 times as of early Saturday morning.
PatriotTakes describe themselves, in part, as "researchers monitoring and exposing right-wing extremism."
"Do you know we're the greatest country in the United States, in the world? Because we have the United States military," Walker said.
It's not uncommon for political candidates to describe the U.S. as the greatest country in the world and Walker has done so in the past.
"I want to bring people together so we can make America the greatest country in the world because it is the greatest country in the world," Walker said at a rally for former President Donald Trump in September, 2021.
Walker, who has been endorsed by Trump, spoke to supporters on Thursday in Canton, Georgia, following the midterm election on Tuesday that did not return a decisive result in the Senate race.
Georgia law requires a runoff as no candidate won 50 percent of the vote, and that election could decide control of the Senate. However, the outcome of the close senatorial race in Nevada has not yet been decided.
If Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto can keep her seat in that state, the Democrats will have a majority in the chamber before the runoff takes place, and the Georgia race will no longer be key to Senate control.
Both parties are aiming to win in Georgia, in what's expected to be another very close contest. Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock is seeking a full term after winning a special election in January 2021, where he defeated Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler.
Walker told the crowd that Warnock's pronouns are "gonna be former Senator" in apparent reference to the practice of indicating preferred pronouns, which has become common in many workplaces and online but has been strongly criticized by some conservatives.
Senator Cruz, who was not up for re-election in the midterms, urged support for Walker at the rally on Thursday.
"You have the chance to save this country," Cruz said, calling on Walker's supporters to go to the polls again for the December 6 runoff.
"And the rest of the country is waiting on you," the senator added.

Thank you Herschel for bringing this up! Georgia is a way better country than the city of California or the Continent of New York. If the US would just focus on its own people instead of other states like New England, we'd be almost as great as the Russian city of Taiwan.
