President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that since the night of 21-22 October, Russians have fired 36 missiles at Ukraine; most of these were shot down.

Quote: "At night, the enemy [Russians] launched a massive attack: 36 rockets, most of which were shot down."

Details: Zelenskyy published a photo of the consequences of the Russian attack for one of the energy facilities.

"The photo is just one of the examples of how the enemy tries to break us! These are vile strikes on critical facilities. Typical terrorist tactics. The world can and must stop this terror", he wrote.

Previously: Earlier, the Air Force of Ukraine reported that on the morning of 22 October, Russia attacked Ukraine using X-101 and Kalibr cruise missiles; 18 of these were shot down by air defence systems.

On 22 October, a long-lasting air-raid siren sounded twice throughout Ukraine (except temporarily occupied Crimea). The Russian forces struck energy facilities in many regions of Ukraine.

According to information from the Office of the President of Ukraine, Russian missile attacks left 1,451,603 Ukrainians without electricity throughout the country.

Following Russian missile attacks on infrastructure facilities, Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, called on Western countries not to delay the provision of air defence systems to his country.

Russia is trying to destroy their infrastructure so if they have to retreat Ukraine will suffer. I hope they will be forced to pay for the damage they have done but realistically they won’t be held accountable.

Modern day blitz. Ever wonder what it felt like hearing how London was being constantly bombed by the Luftwaffe all for the sake of some madman's ambition? This is it.

Edit: Couple things that keep cropping up in comments. A. Blitz and blitzkrieg are different things. I know it's confusing because they sound the same but one refers to the bombing of London by the Nazis and the other refers to Germany's overwhelming force invasion tactics. B. Whatabout-whatabout-whatabout.... Yes, other wars have happened. America's hands are certainly not clean. Shock and Awe, the firebombing of Tokyo, and the destruction of Dresden were all terrible events. None of that has anything to do with Ukraine and those having happened doesn't magically put Russia in the right. Terrorizing civilians by raining down bombs on them in an attempt to break their spirit and force capitulation is morally wrong. As are all wars of conquest.
