A Fox News poll has found that, ahead of crucial midterm elections, President Joe Biden's approval rating is the highest it's been in nine months, based on the poll's previous surveys.

The poll, conducted under the joint direction of Beacon Research and Shaw & Company Research, found that Biden's approval rating now stands at 46 percent, while 53 percent of respondents disapproved of him.

Though the survey found that the president's approval remains in negative territory, his approval rating is the highest it's been in a Fox News poll since January, when it stood at 47 percent.

Disapproval of Biden was 52 percent in the earlier poll, which was also conducted under the joint direction of Beacon Research—a Democratic pollster—and Shaw & Company Research—a Republican pollster.

The most recent Fox News poll was conducted among 1,206 registered voters nationwide and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percent. The Fox News polls by Beacon Research and Shaw & Company Research enjoy an A rating from poll tracker FiveThirtyEight.

January's poll surveyed 1,001 registered voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent.

Biden's approval rating has fallen since Fox News' poll in January. Poll tracking from RealClearPolitics shows that that Biden's approval in Fox News polls between January and October found his approval rating was lower than 47 percent in January's survey.

In the last survey from the network conducted from September 9 to 12, Biden had an approval rating of 43 percent, while 56 of respondents disapproved of the job he was doing.

That poll surveyed 1,201 registered voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percent.

The most recent figures suggest Biden's standing with voters is on the upswing ahead of crucial midterm elections where Democrats are hoping to keep control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

FiveThirtyEight's analysis shows that Biden had an approval rating of 42.9 percent as of Sunday, while 52.9 percent of Americans disapproved of the job the president is doing.

Those figures represent a slight improvement on FiveThirtyEight's average for September 16 when their analysis found that Biden's approval stood at 42 percent and disapproval of the president was 53 percent.

The president's popularity is only one factor in how voters may cast their ballots in the upcoming midterm elections, however. Republicans remain favored to win the House based upon FiveThirtyEight's analysis of a wide range of polls, while Democrats are slightly favored to retain control of the Senate.

If Republicans can win either chamber of Congress, they are likely to stymie Biden's agenda in the two years leading up to the 2024 presidential election, while House Republicans may launch a series of investigations into the administration.

He’s doing things that are popular instead of doing offensive, horrible things, and losing then trying to steal the election. Hope you’re paying attention, Republicans.

Gee, you cancel student debt and start legalizing pot and all of a sudden you're popular. Huh, who knew?
