EA has confirmed the closure of servers for some of their legacy games that also include Mirror’s Edge. They will be shut down on January 19, 2023.

EA has shared this news on their official website where they share updates on the server status for their games. The four games that have been added to the server closure list include Mirror’s Edge, Shank 2, Gatling Gears, and NBA Jam: On Fire Edition.

If you are interested in enjoying the live functionality of any of these games, you still have some months to play them. After the servers are closed, they won’t be able to connect online officially just like any of the legacy titles that EA has listed so far.

For Mirror’s Edge, it is a case of the leaderboards that will likely go down for the time trials. Although there doesn’t appear to be anything that is missable aside from them.

Mirror’s Edge is an action-adventure platform game published by Electronic Arts and developed by DICE. It was released in 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and in 2009 for Microsoft Windows. Faith Connors, an underground parkour courier who sends messages while dodging government monitoring, is the protagonist of the game.

Shank 2 is a 2D side-scrolling action beat ’em up computer game developed by Klei Entertainment and released by Electronic Arts. It includes a new two-player survivor mode, new weaponry, and revamped combat systems. Shank 2 lacks the cooperative story option included in the previous installment, instead opting for a two-player survival mode.

Gatling Gears is a shooter video game released by Electronic Arts and developed by Vanguard Games. Players drive dieselpunk mechs from an isometric perspective to eliminate waves of enemies in the game. Gatling Gears was published on Xbox Live Arcade on May 11, 2011, PlayStation Network, and Windows on August 30, 2011.

NBA Jam: On Fire Edition is a sequel to EA Sports’ NBA Jam reboot. The game was launched on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on October 4, 2011. It incorporates new components from EA’s Fight Night series, such as online roster updates and improved AI.

Just leaderboards for ME which isn't a real loss. The speed-running community tracks their own shit anyway and anyone else shouldn't care

I'm honestly surprised they were still up.
