I'm so sorry man.

I'm in the hospital right now with the exact opposite situation, my daughter has leukemia.

If you need anyone to talk to from one dad to another, I'm always here.

Edit : thank you for all the kind words and awards! ad free reddit is definitely a luxury while sitting in a hospital so I really appreciate it!

If I can offer you a word of advise.

Open an email address for her and periodically send her emails. Talk about your life, your experiences. Talk about your fears and your passions, your hardships, your triumphs. Do your best to let her know exactly who you are, good and bad.

Worst case scenario, you give her the email yourself when she is married. But I’m sure regardless you would be filling any voids she may have otherwise.

I’m sorry to hear about the cancer. But given todays technology, it’s not a death sentence any more. My prayers are with you and your family

Esophageal cancer here. My daughter is now 2 1/2 and will likely lose me this year. It crushes me every day. Keep fighting man.
