More than 140 protesters killed, at least 5,000 protesters arrested

Despite the clerical regime’s brutal repression, the Iranian people’s nationwide uprising continued its ninth day in at least 139 cities in 31 provinces. Last night, the demonstrators in most cities confronted the regimes’ repressive forces.

According to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), more than 140 protesters have been killed, and over 5,000 protesters arrested.

Today, Saturday, September 24, 2022, demonstrators in different cities, including Shiraz, came to the streets chanting “death to the dictator.” In Tehran, demonstrators clashed with repressive forces in front of Tehran University. The students chanted, “Death to the dictator.”

Friday night, on the eighth day of the uprising and hours after the regime’s failed counterdemonstrations, people in cities across Iran took to the streets and confronted the repressive forces. Reports from yesterday’s demonstrations and clashes indicate that despite the large presence of the repressive forces, the youths in 21 districts of Tehran took to the streets and resisted the attacks of the repressive forces by hurling rocks. Some districts include Sattar Khan Bridge, Nazi Abad, Parkway, Ferdous Blvd, Shemiran, Tajrish, and Sadeghieh. Demonstrators chanted, “Death to the dictator,” “This year is a year of sacrifice. Seyyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown”, “We will fight, we will die, and we will take back Iran.”, and “We are fighting men and women. Fight and we fight back!” In Gorgan, protesters took to the streets chanting, “Mullahs must get lost.”

In Rasht, the State Security Force (SSF) opened fire on the demonstrators. In Qom, the youths clashed with the repressive forces. In Marvdasht, a large crowd demonstrated in the streets in front of the repressive forces until late at night. In Mashhad, the demonstrators were chanting, “Mullahs must get lost.” In the Takestan, the rebellious youth set fire to the statue of Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the terrorist Quds Force. In Qarchak, Varamin, the youth forced the SSF to retreat by hurling rocks at them. In Mehrshahr, Karaj, the youth chanted, “Mullahs must get lost.” In Hamadan, the demonstrators chanted, “Death to Khamenei,” “Khamenei is a murderer, his rule is null and void.” In Karaj, the youth set fire to garbage bins, closed the street, and blocked the path of repressive forces. In Hashtgerd, the youths resisted the attack by the repressive forces and chanted, “We are all together.” In Sanandaj, the demonstrators lined up before the regime’s repressive forces and continued their demonstration, chanting “Death to Khamenei.”
