That deer looks happy as hell to see you guys! Did you remove the rope? Did you give it a yellow shirt? Is it part of the crew? I need answers! In all seriousness I’m just curious if you guys got the rope off or if there is any backstory for it.

More story, please? Did you get the rope off?

Edit: I love how the deer is happy for the photo!

A few years ago I had to release a fawn that had gotten stuck between the pickets of a fence. Momma, with another baby, was about two feet away from me on the other side of the fence moving her head from side to side. I’m petting baby and talking to both of them as I try to get my hand underneath so I could pull it out of the fence. I was expecting to get the crap kicked out of me by momma any second. Who knows if she may have been aware of what was going on and that I was trying to help her baby? I pulled baby out and it went around the fence to be reunited with momma. I was in awe of the close encounter that I had with nature and then wiped the hair that the fawn was shedding off of my hand.
