When I lived in Seoul, 2013-2015, I was exposed to some pretty racist things. During the whole Ebola outbreak some bars put up signs saying no “Africans” were allowed.

When I lived in Japan a bar refused a friend and I service, saying they couldn't allow foreigners, "because of the coronavirus". When we explained that we had begun living there before the coronavirus ever even began, had not left Japan, and were no more susceptible than the average Japanese person to catching it, we were told we were still foreigners and couldn't come in.

Ultimately, we just went next door, but it was still annoying.

This store is less than 300 meters from me. I have lived in Seoul for 4.5 years and Gangnam is easily the most racist place in Seoul. That sign is gone now though, I went to check.
