Don't forget to run the glasses through twice. That way, they get hot enough to dry quickly in the rack and you won't have to wipe spots off the glasses. You're welcome.
- Buy some rubber boots. You can simply hose them off at the end of the night, compared to sneakers that will slowly rot/stink over time.
- Wear gloves. The water will slowly soften your skin overnight leading to cuts, etc.
- Bring a change of clothes for post shift. You don't want to drive home and stink up your car, plus you might want to go out with everyone to the pub after work. I'd bring two paper bags to work (one for clothes, the other for shoes). Toss them in the trunk if you have one.
- Have some sort of personal music on hand. Makes the night fly by and can get you amped for when you are in the weeds.
- If this is your actual station, the KM really needs to invest in some rubber mats to cut down on slips/falls.
- Some places let dish hires also do bussing. If you can get a chance to start bussing, this opens front of the house.
- Clean the dishes like you plan to eat off them yourself.
