The Russian-appointed head of the Zaporizhzhia regional state administration, Ivan Sushko, has been killed, as reported by member of the Zaporizhzhya regional state administration’s main council, Volodymyr Rogov, on Wednesday, August 24.

The Russian-appointed head of Zaporizhzhia’s car was blown up after the bomb was placed under the seat. As a result of the explosion, Ivan Sushko was wounded and taken to hospital in a critical condition where he died shortly afterwards.

The advisor to the mayor of the city of Mariupol, also shared the news on his Telegram stating:

“First greetings on Independence Day from Zaporizhzhya. In Zaporizhzhya region, Ivan Sushko, head of the Mykhailivka city state administration, died as a result of a deliberate car bombing.

Minus the gloom – plus for Peremogu!”

The news also broke on Twitter where one user posted:

The news follows reports of the former Mayor Yevgeny Roizman being detained in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

A criminal case has been opened against him under an article on fakes aimed at discrediting the Russian army, as reported on Wednesday, August 24.

There are a ton of (pretty funny) jokes about these car bombings but they are actually pretty important and potentially signifying a shift in dynamic.

After the wall fell and the USSR broke up, car bombs were almost common place in Russia from political assassinations to mob/organized crime hit, and in some cases just petty revenge.

Putin and his party are hailed with stabilizing the country and getting rid of the car bombs that were so common. Now with the increase of high level political/social figures getting blown up, it's starting to show cracks in the regime and the "safety" they provide.
