It was a grueling hike up to the top of Peak Hill with three cameras, three lenses, an equatorial tracking mount, a robotic panorama head, and various other equipment.
I was 10 minutes into the extremely steep hike when I realized the 26.5kg bag I was carrying was a bit too heavy, but I had to keep going, I had to complete my plan. Leaving at sunset it was a slow grind over 2.5 hours with quite a few stops, the start of the track just goes straight up, with marble-like rocks on hard clay, making the track very slippery (coming down was a lot worse and I took a couple of spills but was fine)
Image info:
The sky is a multi-row-tracked panorama, 60 seconds each exposure, ISO1600, f2.8 with my H.Alpha modified Canon R5
The foreground was taken at blue-hour, facing the same direction as the Milky Way, this was for maximum detail and extra light, the image had to be blended either way because of using a tracking mount for the sky.
