say hi! - instagram.com/jackfusco

As soon as I was planning my trip, I was already thinking about planning this for my flight back home. I looked for a red eye flight back home that would line up timing wise and made sure I would be sitting on the correct side of the plane. I knew there would be some active meteor showers, too, but you always need to be a little bit lucky in that regard. So, as soon as we got to our cruising altitude, I got all set up and started taking photos.

This was at the end of about 10 days of shooting, so my original plan was to take a couple of photos and then try to get some sleep. I think anyone that has shot photos of the night sky knows how quickly plans to sleep fall apart. After the first few photos, I was pretty excited, so as you might be able to guess at this point, I ended up staying awake my entire flight out. I took a few more images and then ended up timelapsing until just before landing (Look for that soon!) I ended up catching a handful of meteors, but this was definitely the most impressive.

Woah, is this for real? How is it possible to get such high fidelity of the milky way while there is so much glare and while in an aircraft? Not hating, just amazed/surprised.

Interesting shot. Thx. Makes you want to book some special flights.

Did you consider going out on the wing. ;).

Good job. Nice way to shorten a flight
