Details regarding the character customization, game creation, and difficulty modes in Diablo 4 have been leaked ahead of its official reveal.

The new footage includes a video and a slew of screenshots that showcase some of the features included in Diablo 4, such as character customization and difficulty options.

Screenshots from a private test build of Diablo 4 can be seen below.

The game includes two options for tutorial preference, the first of which offers more guidance to the player via in-depth tutorials. It is recommended for those who are new to the Diablo series. The other options provides guidance limited to new features. It is recommended for experienced Diablo players.

The game’s difficulty setting can be altered at any time from the character selection screen or from the world tier statue in Kyovashed. The difficulty options include a world tier 1 Adventurer setting that is recommended for new players or those who are looking for a lighter challenge. Enemies are easy to defeat in this mode, though drops aren’t as good as the higher difficulty. The latter is known as the world tier 2 Veteran difficulty. As the name implies, it is recommended for Diablo veterans who are looking for a challenging experience. Enemies will be tougher here, though drops are better than those offered in the Adventurer difficulty. Playing on the Veteran difficulty also rewards you with a greater amount of XP and Gold.

Diablo IV is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, and is the fourth main installment in the Diablo series. The game’s release date was revealed on June 12, 2022, after the game’s announcement on November 1, 2019 during BlizzCon 2019. While new elements like an open environment and pvp interactions will be added, series staples like re-playable, randomly generated dungeons and loot-focused character creation will remain. Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, Rogue, and Necromancer are the five playable classes that have been revealed; they have all made an appearance in the series. Players control their avatar as they complete tasks and engage in battle in the Sanctuary universe while the exiled Lilith reappears to cause mayhem.

What is everyone reacting to? It’s just a character creation menu. And it looks good?

Here I go nitpick about it again, but if it's a leak then it isn't a rumor.

A rumor is when you have no way to validate the information you are presenting.

This is a leak. It's not officially released, but you have actual information that can be validades in the screenshots.
