What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access? “We are a very small team making an RTS which is usually made with much larger teams. The community can provide us with valuable feedback and test on a larger scale than we can alone. The RTS community is very passionate and we want to hear from you on how we can improve the game before a full release.” Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access? “We hope to release the full version a bit more than a year after Early Access. However it could be longer if we or the community think that the game needs more time.” How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version? “Early Access will contain a limited number of maps, campaign missions and heroes to play with. The story campaign will at first contain a handful of missions, so if you want to experience the full story the first playthrough, please wait until full release. There will be versus and challenge maps to play besides the campaign, so consider if that is enough for now. Additionally, some of the voice acting in Early Access could be placeholder or missing.

As the game progresses, we hope to add more maps, missions and heroes. Hero skills, units and buildings could change based on feedback. Many of the visuals, animations, effects and audio may be improved in both performance and quality. As the voice lines of the story are refined, some of the voice recording might be improved or even replaced.

The AI is another major aspect that is planned to be continuously iterated on until full release.

More supported languages might be added as the Early Access progresses.” What is the current state of the Early Access version? “There are custom maps where you can pick your hero and battle in both PvP and PvE. However, not all heroes are fully playable or balanced.

The campaign has a handful of missions to give a taste of what is to come. However the current experience is not of full release quality and requires iteration based on feedback.

In the current version some bugs and performance issues might be present. We are hard at work to smooth these out as soon as we are aware of them.” Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access? “Price may increase moderately when we release.” How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process? “You can join our official Discord channel where you can reach us and fellow players. We are open to feedback and suggestions, and would love to hear what you think. We will also be reading comments on Steam, and anywhere else we have a presence like Twitter and Facebook.”

This looks pretty cool! Classic Warcraft without the Blizzard bullshit. Online Co Op. I’ll probably check this out when it’s development is further along. I’m not a fan of the buggyness and poor optimization of early access games.
